Robert Burlington " Bobby " Knight

Robert Burlington Knight, 79, of Charleston, husband to Barbara Knight entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 22, 2020. His wife was by his side.
Born on April 08, 1940 in Edgewood, Alabama, Robert was a son of the late, Paul Knight and Eula Evelyn Knight. He grew up on Folly Beach and loved to recall and tell stories of those Folly days. Robert was a Free Mason out of Florence, South Carolina and enjoyed framing art work. Robert was a Seaman in the Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve, serving in Puerto Rico from 1960 until 1962, he started out as an HVAC Technician working in Roper and the now VA hospitals and he later joined the DuPont Design and Engineer Company in 1972 in Wilmington, Delaware. He loved traveling with his family and cooking for them all.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his daughter, Lisa Thuresson of Middletown, Delaware; his sons, Robert Burlington Knight Jr. of Findlay, Ohio, George Jeffrey Knight of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Jason Adam Knight (Cheri Roberts Knight) of James Island, South Carolina; his sister, Patricia Carolyn Manns (William D. Mann’s) of Summerton, South Carolina; his brothers, Gerald R. Knight of James Island South Carolina, Charles R. Knight (Mary) of Thomaston, Georgia, Michael S. Knight of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Larry K. Knight (Jennifer) of Bonneau, South Carolina and Donald E. Knight (Joyce) of Goose Creek, South Carolina; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces nephews and extended family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
