Robert Francis Alexander, age 77 passed away the night of February 2nd, 2024.
A commemorative mass will be held at Saint John the Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue in Summerville, SC on February 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM EST.
Born on August 22nd, 1946, in Jersey City, NJ. Robert (Bob) was one of four children to his mother Frances and Father Francis.
He attended Teaneck Highschool and after graduation, enlisted in the United States Airforce, where he proudly served his country in the Vietnam War.
After his four years of service in the United States Air Force, Bob came back home and went into business with his father in real-estate. He married and became a loving father, to the apple of his eye, his daughter, Lauren Alexander Paczkowski. At this time, he also he found his love in tennis. After working with his father, he started his own company which did kitchen and bathroom remodels, named Best Kitchens and Baths. While working tirelessly to provide for his family, Bob created a revolutionary new reglazing product 'Topokote'. He became the solo distributor of his product and well as certified others to install these products. Through this process, he mentored many individuals to develop their own reglazing businesses using the products throughout the USA and Canada.
Bob was a hardworking, thrill seeking, fun loving, and brilliant man who always enjoyed a good joke. In Bob's thirties he became an avid triathlete. Completing at the highest level of events. Bob was a thrill seeker who enjoyed taking calculated risks in life be it through business, real-estate, stock market or personal ventures.
Bob later moved down to South Carolina with his current wife Karen. He later sold his business to Sumter Coatings and retired. During his retirement he enjoyed his time playing competitive tennis and playing with his two dogs Charleston and Savannah. Bob was a loving father and grandfather, who adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his siblings, Amelia, Virginia, and Kenneth, his wife Karen, residing in South Carolina and is remembered fondly by his daughter Lauren, along with his son-in-law Damon. Bob's legacy is further enriched by cherished grandchildren Aubrey and Bryan, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests memorial donations to the Fisher House of Charleston who provides lodging and comforts of home for families with veterans receiving care by the VA medical system.
The Alexander and Paczkowski family express heartfelt thanks to Lutheran Hospice, as well as Angie and Odetta for their exceptional support and care during Bob's final days.
