Rita Helen Sheets

Rita Helen Sheets, 87, of Goose Creek, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her family on November 4, 2015. She was born in Waltham, MA to the late Edmund and Edith Gallant. Rita and her husband Denna travelled throughout the U.S. while he was in the military. She enjoyed sewing making ceramics, and her large doll collection. Rita had a special love for her many pets and always contributed to multiple animal shelters. She was known for her contagious smile, quick wit, and sense of humor. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Slattery of Somerville, MA; niece, Irene Darling of Goose Creek; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Besides her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Denna E. Sheets; and twelve siblings. A visitation will be held Monday, November 9, 2015, from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Goose Creek Chapel. The rosary will be at 7:30 pm. Internment at Beaufort National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 11, 2015.
