Richard Thomas Koster, Sr.

Richard Thomas Koster, Sr., 73, of Hollywood, SC passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017.
He was born on November 8, 1943, in Charleston, SC, son of the late Jewell Hall Koster and the late William J. Koster, Sr.

Dickie was the district manager for St. Andrew’s Public Service District, and retired from Charleston Public Works after 20 years. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed working in the yard, fishing, golfing, and antiquing in the mountains with Beverly. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather, who brightened the world for all of those that were lucky to have known him.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.

Dickie is survived by his loving wife of four years, Beverly Baturin Parker Koster, of Hollywood, SC; one son, Richard “Rick”Thomas Koster, Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Charleston, SC; three daughters: Lorraine “Lori” Roberson and her husband, Ken, of Charleston, SC; Christine “Christy” Horne of Charleston, SC and Julie Wagner of Alpharetta, GA; 10 grandchildren: Jordan, Nicholas, Brenna, Casey, Emma, Jake, Daryn, Grace, Ben and Alex; and his brother, Ronald Koster and his wife, Lee, of Yonges Island.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at the family home, 5367 Boone Run Road, Hollywood, SC 29449,

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4255 Highway 165, Yonges Island, SC 29449.
