Rex S. Porter

Rex Stephen Porter was born on August 20, 1985 in Canton, Ohio and went to heaven August 23, 2015. Rex attended Massillon Washington High School, graduating in 2004. He attended Clemson University and was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity. Rex was employed at The Windjammer for the past eight years. He was always a giving person and putting others first. He had incredible awareness and insight as to what was important in life. His positivity, sense of humor and easy going outlook was wonderful to be around. We will miss an amazing son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who we lost way too soon, though we have gained the most perfect guardian angel. Rex was an active member of Clap Your Hands, a non-profit organization He is survived by his loving parents, Diane K. and Rex Allan Porter; sister, Lauren K. Porter; sister-in-law, Crystal L. Reed; niece, Madelyn; nephew, Porter, all of Hanahan, SC; his loving dog, JoAnna, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family and friends will gather at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 11:30 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Rex’s Life will be continued at The Windjammer, 1008 Ocean Blvd, Isle of Palms, SC, 29451. Remember, Rex would want you in casual attire.
