Rebecca S. Fazio (Smith)

Rebecca S. Fazio, 79, of Charleston, passed away on August 16, 2016. Rebecca Fazio was born on November 24, 1936 in Oneonta, NY to the late Harold Smith and Ruth Foster Smith. She was an author, artist, athlete, teacher, guidance counselor and best friend. She will be remembered as a faithful and diligent member of her church, a loving, caring mother and grandmother and friend to all she encountered. Survivors include her daughters, Ruth Fazio Johnson and Debra Fazio Hughes and her son, Michael Fazio; her grandsons, Shane Easterling, Byron Fazio, Harley Johnson and Samuel Hughes, and her granddaughters, Jasper Fazio, Alyssa Mason and Laura Hughes; her brother, John Smith; and all extended family. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, James Island Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until start of the service.
