Rebecca Catapang Maula, 70, of Ladson, passed away January 13, 2014. Born in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Delfin and Eufrosina Catapang and wife of Hermenegildo Maula. Mrs. Maula retired from Trident Medical Center after working 25 years as a pediatric nurse. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She loved crabbing, cooking, and crocheting. She is survived by her husband, Hermenegildo Maula; four daughters, Lorelei Campeau and husband Christopher of Summerville, Amy Overbaugh and husband Lawrence of Columbia, Erme Maula and partner Aileen Haggerty of Philadelphia, PA and Joslyn Maula and partner Rosanna Tran of Berkeley, CA; four siblings, Arthur Catapang and wife Lita, Blanca Odtohan and husband Nemisio, Delfin Catapang, Jr. and wife Brisa and Carmencita Driggers. Mrs. Maula is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jordan, Jackson and Olivia Campeau. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Goose Creek. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 15, 2014 and Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:15 p.m.
