Rafael Echenique

Rafael Echenique, 61, of Ladson, South Carolina passed away, Thursday, May 17, 2018. He was born on November 24, 1956 in Havana, Cuba to Roque and Yolanda (Garcia) Echenique. Ralph was a family man. He spent his time fishing, hiking, and taking care of his large and loving family. He worked as a dairy man at Coburg for many years and as a LAR at Premier Logistics. He was a friend and an inspiration to everyone he met.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Echenique; daughters, Katina Echenique (Ray Meyers), Marissa Watson (Patrick), Lauren Syfert (Luke). Grandchildren, Brianna Heupel, Dalton Worsham, Chloe Syfert, Josalin Syfert, Noah Watson; sister, Maria Bushman (Denny); goddaughter, Julie Deyo; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cary Burton.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 12:00PM - 2:00PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC, 29445. The Memorial Service will also be held May 20, 2018 at 2:00PM in the same location. It was Ralph’s wish that his life be celebrated. The family asks that guests arrive in cheerful and lively colors (he happened to prefer orange). Those who wish to share stories and memories will be welcome. Please no suits or ties necessary.
