PORTIA ESTRADA VILLAVICENCIO, 57, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, wife of Rolando V. Villavicencio, and mother to Jeremiah, Alexa Chloe, and Ian Daniel, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at 2:20 a.m., surrounded by her husband and three children. Born on May 27, 1959 at Manila, Philippines, she was the daughter of Cesar B. Estrada and the late Purificacion Dumapit Estrada. She was the eldest of six siblings. Portia was exemplary in grade school and graduated valedictorian from Botolan High School, class of 1977, in the Philippines. Portia attended the University of Santo Tomas, also in Manila. In 1979, she began her career with Philippine Airlines where she was an International Flight Attendant until 1988. In between flights, in 1987, Portia finally migrated to the United States and began a new career in the hotel industry. She built her hotel career in Los Angeles, California, where her last position was the Director of Sales for a 5-Star Long Beach hotel. In 1994, she embarked on a new career as financial consultant with Northwestern Mutual in Irvine, California and eventually in Charleston, South Carolina. By the year 2000, Portia joined Rolando practicing real estate while with RE/MAX Professional Realty. As a husband-and-wife team, Portia and Rolando grew their real estate business, mostly concentrating in commercial real estate. Portia was a devoted Northwood Academy volunteer, football, and soccer Mom. Portia will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, who’s fun loving spirit will never be forgotten. Portia was predeceased by her mother Purificacion Dumapit Estrada and her Brother Antonio Estrada, and is survived by Paulita Jiro, Basanio Estrada, Nerissa Estrada, and Joseph Estrada. Saturday, January 7’s viewing will be held from 9 am to 10 am, followed by a Memorial Service from 10 am to 11 am and finally a Memorial Life Celebration Party from 11 am to 2 pm, all segments to be held at Northwood Church, 4020 2nd Ave, Summerville, South Carolina, 29486. Meanwhile, the family will receive friends from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, January 6, 2016 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 869 St. James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
