Phyllis Ann Morgan

Phyllis Ann Morgan, 76, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 after a prolonged illness.

Born on May 30, 1947, in New Albany, IN, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Zipp Canter and the late Ernest John Canter. 

Phyllis met the love of her life in college. Six months later they were married and both proceeded to graduate.

Phyllis was at various times an elementary school teacher, stay-at-home mother, and a pioneer in home schooling. She was an encouragement to all who knew her all over the country.

Besides her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents and brother James Canter.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry Morgan; son, Paul Morgan and his wife Ruth Morgan; daughter, Felicity Morgan and her wife Melody Rooker; and Grandson Aiden Morgan-Pleasants.

Phyllis’ illness prevented her from getting to know very many people in the Charleston area.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the givers’ choice.

There will be no services or public viewing. Phyllis opted for a quick cremation.
