Phyllis Marie Stamegna, 89, of Mt. Pleasant , SC entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 16, 2017.
She was born on February 16, 1928 in Mamaroneck, New York to the Late Bendetto Iacovelli and the Late Grace (Funicello) Iacovelli.
Phyllis was a school secretary in New York and New Hampshire, as well as a consumate sewing and craft artist. Her clothing and craft creations were displayed and sold in specialty shops in New York, New Hampshire and Virginia.
She is survived by her children Dr. Richard P. Stamegna, Jr. (Sandra), David J. Stamegna (JoAneen) and Sharon A. Stangil (the late Dr. Paul Stangil), Beth Stamegna, Grandchildren Amber Stamegna Deutsch (Marshall), Christopher D. Stamegna, Skyler B. Stamegna (Chrissy), Lauren A. Stangil, Anthony J. Stamegna and Vanessa M. Stangil, Great-Grandchilden Elena Stamegna Deutsch, Marlowe Stamegna Deutsch and Hunter Riley Stamegna, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving and dedicated husband of 68 years, Richard Paul Stamegna, Sr.; a retired detective with the NY Police Department and a former Marine.
A private Memorial Service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant, SC.
