Phillip Leon Copeland passed away unexpectantly from a massive heart attack on November 19th, 2021, in Hanahan, SC.
Phil was born December 12th, 1960 to Elizabeth Williamson and Leon Copeland in Columbia, SC.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda, sons, Phillip, and Logan, daughter-in-law, Kathy, grandson, Zabe, sisters Debbie Copeland Wald (Larry), and Karen Copeland Vazquez (Tony), numerous nieces and nephews, and their pack of rescues.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Rusty.
Phil grew up in the Springwood Lake neighborhood in Columbia, SC, and graduated from Spring Valley High School. He served the US Army. The skills he learned there guided him into a career in Defense Contracting. Phil loved animals. He and Rhonda were always rescuing cats and dogs who became part of their pack.
