Paul William McCarthy, 66, of Pompano Beach, Florida, peacefully passed away on November 11, 2018.
Born on November 2, 1952 in Hamilton, Ontario, he was a son of Audrey Couchan and William McCarthy. He and his family moved to Florida when he was 12.
He is survived by his best friend and Boston Terrier, Bosco; his sister, Nora Spain and her husband George; his niece Shannon Robinson and her husband Shane; his nephew David Spain and his wife Margaret Minch and their two children Connor and Suzie of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by his brother Sean McCarthy; his nephew Trevor McCarthy; his niece Cassandra McCarthy and her son Finn of Chuluota, FL.
Paul was a gentle giant who boasted of his Neanderthal genetics (thanks to the mail-order ancestry results). He was a Master Electrician and Hot Springs Spa guru. He enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool. He had a huge heart and a winning smile. He will be missed dearly by all.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 17th at 4:00 PM for a Celebration of Life at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, James Island.
