Paul Darrell Kettrick, Sr.

Paul Darrell Kettrick Sr., 76, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023. 

Born on May 27, 1947, in Southampton, NY, he was a son of the late Alexandria Wysocki Kettrick and Edwin Kettrick. 

Paul was drafted into the US Army and served in the Vietnam War for two years. He retired from Verizon after working there for many years. He started as a lineman and finished as a construction manager. He enjoyed gardening, watching football, especially the Gamecocks, and spending time with his family. Paul's family will remember him as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sarah Lindsey Kettrick; his children: Paul Kettrick, Jr. (Kim), Sarah Aufderheide and Daryl Kettrick; grandchildren: Alexis, Sabrina, Samantha, Ricky, Brandon and Max; great-grandchildren, William and Nelly; and his sister, Gail Fennell (Royal).

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley, with a funeral service following at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW.
