Paul J. Ziegler, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away with his son by his side on Saturday, May 14, 2016. He was born on March 17, 1926 in Norwalk, WI to the late Mrs. Mary Ziegler and the late Mr. Gene Ziegler. Paul volunteered in the U.S. Army in 1950 and served in the Korean Conflict, returned home with a G.I. Bill of Rights and attended the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse in 1958 and graduated in 1962. He then began his career with Coca-Cola and traveled the world for fifteen years and then met the love of his life, Lynn, in 1970 in London. They married in London in 1971 and eventually moved to Atlanta, GA, retiring from Coca-Cola in 1987. Paul enjoyed fishing, golfing and his annual trips to meet brothers and old buddies in Wisconsin. He lived a full life with his wife on the Isle of Palms before moving to Franke at Seaside in 2014. Some of his favorite times were spent with Lynn’s family at Christmas in NC, traveling overseas and especially noted a fondness for the people of the Philippines, Japan, Costa Rica and Mexico. He often spoke of the rich relationships he made while working for Coca-Cola and wished he could have visited all of them one last time. His son Shane was born in 1973, married Morgan (Williams) and they had twin boys, Woods and Winters, and daughter Lucy. Paul often stated that he was a proud grandfather and thought his granddaughter was the “sweetest girl and pride and joy of Lynn, beautiful and takes after her mother in her personality and other attributes.†His family will remember him as a loving husband, amazing father, grandfather and friend to many. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carole Lynn Ziegler: son, Shane Ziegler and his wife Morgan; grandchildren, Winters, Woods and Lucy, all of Mt.
