Paul Bernard Grimes

Mr. Paul B. Grimes, 86, of Charleston and husband of Shelby Grimes, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017.

Paul was born on May 7, 1931 in Chicopee, MA to the late Francis Oliver Grimes and the late Marion Phoebe Allen Grimes. He was an Army veteran, avid fisherman, and master gardener. After 30 years, he retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a pipe fitter. Paul was a faithful member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and also attended Folly Beach Baptist Church. His family will remember him as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife of 36 years, survivors include 6 children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 56 Center St, Folly Beach, SC 29439. The family will receive friends from 10am-12pm at the church.

Rite of Committal will be at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414 immediately following the service.
