Patrick J. McGregor

Patrick J McGregor, 55, of Mt Pleasant, husband of Laura Dieter McGregor, entered into eternal rest on the morning of Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his home. Born on September 1, 1961 in Groton, CT, he was a son of James T. McGregor and the late Arlene Hagen McGregor.

Pat worked in the automotive industry for 25 years, first at Jones Ford and then at Marchant Chevrolet. He also worked at the DMV in Mt. Pleasant until he retired in 2015. He enjoyed working in the yard, landscaping, woodworking and playing board games with his children. Pat also loved a good game of cards. Pat will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and friend to many.

Besides his wife of 26 years, Pat is survived by his four children, Madeline, Patrick, Joseph and Mark, all of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Joseph McGregor (Debbie) of Troutman, NC and Michael McGregor (Gabriele) of Stuttgart, Germany; Sisters, Sandra Wood (Sam) of Harrisburg, PA, Carol McGregor of Jacksonville, FL, Donna McGregor (Alexa) of Mesa, AZ, Colleen Carte of Norcross, GA and Kathleen McGregor of Wake Forest, NC; in-laws, Robert and Marian Dieter of Mt Pleasant and brother-in-law, David Dieter (Mary Ann) of Charleston; step-mother, Grace McGregor along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant Chapel. A prayer service will begin at 6:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1122 Russell Dr., Mt Pleasant, SC, 29464.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to a charity of one’s choice.
