Pascal Crosby, aka “Coach,” aka “Bubba,” passed away peacefully at home Monday, June 8, surrounded
by love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pascal James Crosby, Sr. and Mary Quinn Crosby, as
well as two brothers, Walter Crosby and William Crosby. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-eight
years, Mary Louise Crosby, nee O’Daniel and one brother, Roy Crosby. He leaves behind his step-son,
Jonathan A. “Jay” Millen II (Ginger), and step-grandson, Jonathan A. “Nate” Millen III, as well as
numerous extended family members.
Pascal, age 88, was born in Charleston. He was a Class of “50” graduate of Bishop England High School.
After serving in the Air Force, he returned to Charleston, attending The Citadel as a veteran student and
graduating in the Class of 1958.
As an educator and athletic coach in the Charleston area, “Coach” touched many young lives and helped
to mold young people as productive citizens. Quite a few of the area residents learned to drive with his
instruction. Teaching and coaching at Hanahan High School, Porter Military Academy and Porter-Gaud
School, and James Island High Schools resulted in numerous personal honors as well as Championship
games.
The family appreciates all the kind expressions of love and caring that have been extended throughout a
long illness.
