Oscar Stanley Utheim, Jr., 65, of the New Hope Community in Summerville, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 31, 2015. He was born December 13, 1949 in Aberdeen, WA to the late Oscar Stanley Utheim Sr. and Georgia Lee Utheim. He proudly served on the USS Remora Submarine in the United States Navy for four years. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a Shipfitter Supervisor from Shop 11. He enjoyed playing the banjo, bluegrass music, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Summerville. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Utheim of Summerville; daughter Stacey Crupper and her husband Gordon of Summerville; son Oscar Stanley Utheim, III and his wife Jeana of Summerville; son Keith Utheim and his wife Marcy of Cayce; 4 grandchildren, Gage Bowman, Sophie Crupper, Norah and Alice Utheim; 4 sisters Jeannette Boley and Sue Handley of Washington; Pat McKay of Rhode Island; Shirley Rhodes of California; brother Mike Utheim of Washington. He is predeceased by his sister Diane Coppin of Washington. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 3:00 pm in New Hope United Methodist Church, 1253 Jedburg Road, Summerville.
