Norma LeRae Warren (89) died peacefully at her home on Feb.13, 2015 in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was born in Newberry, SC on February 7, 1926, and graduated from Newberry High School. Norma is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Lewis Edwin Nichols; sister, Carolyn Warren McDowell (Dr. Ernest) of Sumter, SC; brother-in-law, Eugene Cook, of Laurens, SC; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Roddey Nichols of Charleston; granddaughter, Kristen Nichols Cooper (Guy) of James Island; great-granddaughter, Liza Grace; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Vira Boozer Warren and Abram Warren of Newberry; her only child, Keith Lewis Nichols of Charleston; and her sister, Margie Warren Cook of Summerville. Mrs.Nichols began her career in Newberry as a ticket agent at the Ritz Theater. She worked at General Electric in Columbia and retired with AT&T in Charleston in 1991. She worked in TSPS for Bell South and retired as a Service Representative for AT&T after 20 years. She was active in the Charleston Women's Civitan Club in the 1980's and was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church in Silverstreet. SC. A wonderful cook, Mrs.Nichols' cakes and desserts were cherished treats at family gatherings. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends and family may visit from 3 to 5 pm at McAllister-Smith, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt.Pleasant, Sunday, February 15. A Graveside Services will be held at Newberry Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm, followed by the Internment.
