Nicholas A. Filosa

Nicholas Alfred Filosa, 89 of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024.  

Born on October 23, 1934, in Milford, MA was a son of the late Nicholas Alfred and Susan Marie (Depaulo) Filosa.

Born and raised in Milford, Massachusetts, Nicholas served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He is a member of VFW Post 10624. Post-service, he then pursued a business degree at Burdett College of Business and thus entered the then new world of credit management for WT Grants, ascending to regional manager for the southeast United States. In 1977 decided to pursue a career in banking, and eventually became the president of the most successful bank in the state of Indiana for many years - the Union Bank and Trust - retiring in 2000.

Married to Vivian in 1969, they together raised three sons and a daughter living in Milwaukee WI, Nashua NH, Tampa FL, North Vernon and Bloomington Indiana, Sanibel Island and Fort Myers Florida and Mount Pleasant South Carolina.

Nicholas is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Susan Filosa.

Nicholas is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vivian B. (Corya) Filosa, son Michael Filosa, son Jeffrey Filosa, son Mark Filosa, daughter Gwendolyn Filosa, the Filosa grandchildren - Alison, Nicholas, and Matthew, his great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Isabella, and Mia. Also survived by his sister Susanne Cenedella of Worcester, MA. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at McAlister-Smith, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC.
