Nelson James Collins

Nelson James Collins, 92, of Charleston, SC husband to Doris (Lois) Collins, entered into eternal rest on March 09, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 11, 1929 in Horry County, SC, Nelson was a son of Kemp Mack Collins and Lillie May Johnson Collins.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Vernon Collins, sister Ismay Hodge, and son Ricky Nelson Collins.

Besides his wife of 73 years, Nelson is survived by his sister Althea Roberts, brother Archie Collins, daughter Karen Seals, daughter-in-law Debbie Collins and grandchildren Bert Secrest and Courtney Collins.

Nelson retired from AT&T after 41 years of service; was a member of Fort Johnson Baptist Church; and enjoyed fishing and watching Clemson football.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at NOON, Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Family Life Center of Fort Johnson Baptist Church, 1473 Camp Rd., Charleston, SC 29412. Immediately following he will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Rd, Charleston, SC 29412. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nelson`s memory may be sent to Fort Johnson Baptist Church Building Fund.
