Nellie Ruth Worrell, 79, of Goose Creek passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She was born in Bennettsville, SC, a daughter of the late Ellerbe Driggers and the late Ira Jones Driggers. Ruth enjoyed her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a member of the Worship Center Church of God in Goose Creek. Some of her beloved hobbies include: cake decorating, flower arranging, crafts, puzzles and was an avid reader. She loved to cook for her family, who enjoyed eating her food. The family remembers her as being a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother. Ruth cared so much about others and was the definition of “selflessâ€. She was full of life and love and will be deeply missed. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, US Army SSGT Byrd Doris Worrell, one son: Ronald (Rusty) Worrell and one brother, Billy Eugene Driggers. Survivors include two sons; Rick Worrell and his wife Kathy of Spartanburg, SC, Bill Worrell of Goose Creek, one daughter Wilma Bellomy and her husband Mark of Moncks Corner; five grandchildren, Jennifer Roxzine Bellomy, Justin Walker Bellomy, William Carl Worrell, Jr, Sara Michnovicz, and Joshua Bell; and three great grandchildren, Brandon Driggers, Melody Bell, and Samantha Bell; two brothers, Jasper Monroe Driggers and Eddie Lee Driggers; two sisters, Faye Nolan and Judy A. Dubberly, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Worship Center Church of God, 124 Red Bank Rd, Goose Creek, SC 29445. Brother James Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow at Broad Swamp Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Kingstree, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 30, 2014 in the chapel of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Goose Creek.
