Nellie “Juanita†Singletary, 85, of Moncks Corner, passed away, Monday, September 22, 2014. Juanita was born on April 20, 1929 in Monroe, GA, a daughter of the late Henry Taylor Miller and Nettie Sword Miller. She was the last surviving member of her family. Juanita retired from K-Mart and was a homemaker. She was a member of the New Life Baptist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an avid sports fan, especially the Clemson Tigers. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, eating, and spending time on the front porch swing. Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include one son: Joseph Singletary Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Hanahan, two daughters: Beverly S. Segars and Betty S. Watson of Moncks Corner, five grandchildren: Donna Patterson and her husband Barry of Summerton, Joseph H. Singletary III (Trey) and his wife Michele, of Goose Creek, Laura B. Singletary of Hanahan, Clayton Cole and his wife Katrina of Pinopolis, and Kristin Segars of Moncks Corner, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Singletary Sr. ; one great-grandson, Hunter Cole, and eight siblings. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm Thursday, September 25, 2014 in the chapel of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel. A funeral service will be held 1:00pm Friday, September 26, 2014 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Goose Creek.
