Nathan "Tony" Anthony Rushton

Nathan Anthony (Tony) Rushton, 69, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 16, 2024. 

His Service of Resurrection will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., in Charleston, SC. The Interment will be at 11:00 AM at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. 

Born October 10, 1954 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Nathan and Myrtle Rushton.

Tony married the love of his life, Nita Sandefur, on February 19, 1977. His greatest identity was being a loving husband, devoted father, and proud pop. 

He worked hard at everything he did and was a man of integrity. Tony never had idle hands and enjoyed nature, welcoming family and friends to his home, and kept a soft spot for all animals. 

Tony is survived by his wife, Nita, of 47 years; his daughter, Stephanie (Jim) Harris of Raleigh, NC; his son, Mark (Lynsey) Rushton of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, AnnaLouise Harris, Audrey Harris, Jaxson Rushton, Eleanor Rushton, and Sarah Rushton

Also survived by his brother Phillip Rushton, sister Sharon Murray, and brother of the heart, Mike Williamson.

Our family will especially miss his ability to make us laugh, his caring heart and most of all his earthly presence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407 earmarked for Children's Ministry.
