Nancy Patricia Prominski (Piedmont)

Nancy Patricia Prominski, formerly of Arlington, Virginia, passed away at the age of 90 in the loving hands of God on April 23, 2016. She died peacefully of natural causes in the arms of all of her children at her home on the Isle of Palms, South Carolina. She was born on August 26, 1925 to William P. and Mary D. Piedmont in Norfolk, Virginia. She received her college degree at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, followed by a Master''s Degree in Sociology at The Catholic University of America. She was active in many civic and charitable organizations and was a lifelong and faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church. She was particularly devoted to and loved by, her many children, grandchildren, other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 54 years, Dr. John E. Prominski, M.D., and her four siblings of the Piedmont family, Mary Aunnie, William, Jack and Donlan. She is survived by her seven children: John E., Jr. (Mary); William P., M.D. (Mollie); Christopher D. (Paula); Nancy P. Rooney (Joe); Mary E. Johnson (David); Ann C. Hassett (Robert); Peter M. (Kathy); and 15 cherished grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Sullivan''s Island, SC. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
