Nancy Jean Nixon, passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 61. Born on December 19, 1961, in Charleston, SC, Nancy was the beloved daughter of Bonnie Martin Nixon and the late John C. Nixon.
Nancy's unwavering dedication to her family defined her life. As a devoted mother, she cherished her daughter, Amanda Pye, and embraced the role of Nana with joy and pride for her granddaughters, Savanna Owens and Addison Yates.
Her pursuit of knowledge and education led her to achieve an associate degree in nursing, a testament to her hard work and determination. Nancy's career as a nurse in the healthcare industry allowed her to make a positive impact on countless lives, providing care and compassion in times of need.
Outside of her professional life, Nancy lived each day to the fullest. Her free-spirited nature was complemented by her love for the outdoors. She could often be found fishing, crabbing, or strolling along the sandy shores of the beach, collecting seashells as treasured keepsakes.
Nancy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, John C. Nixon, her brother, Jay Nixon, her uncle, Robert Nixon, and her grandson, Ryland Yates.
Her memory will continue to be cherished by her daughter, Amanda Pye, Amanda's fiancé, Joshua Jennings, her dear friend, Amanda's father, Robert Pye, her cherished granddaughters, Savanna Owens and Addison Yates, and her loving mother, Bonnie Nixon.
In celebrating Nancy's life, A Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 10:30-11:30 am at the Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will take place after Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
Nancy's light will forever shine on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her infectious spirit, unwavering love, and the countless lives she touched. As we bid farewell to our beloved Nancy, let us celebrate her life, the precious memories we shared, and the impact she made on our lives. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
