Norman John Ballo, age 90, passed away on July 1, 2022. Norman is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Paula Feeney Ballo. Norman is also survived by his son Joe Ballo (Debbie), granddaughter Cassy Thompson (John), and adopted grandson, Billy Lee.
Norman leaves behind an adopted family whom he genuinely loved, Maggie, Pete, and Jacob Berry. Norman is survived by many friends and neighbors on Oak Island where he was known as the “Mayor of Oak Island.” Norman was a Veteran of the Korean War and worked at the VA Hospital in Charleston, SC for 38 years before retiring.
Norman is preceded in passing by his first wife of 59 years, Eleanor, and his parents and sister.
The family will greet family and friends during a visitation on July 12, 2022, from 10:30 AM to 11:20 AM at The Church of the Nativity at 1061 Folly Road; Charleston, SC 29412, The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at The Church of the Nativity by Father S. Thomas Kingsley.
Private interment will follow the mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Nativity or Nativity School at 1061 Folly Road: Charleston, SC 29412 in Norman’s memory.
