Modine Hawkins Pate ,88, wife of Holley Pate, entered into eternal rest on December 20, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Modine was born on April 14, 1932 in Excel, Alabama, Modine was a daughter of the late Claude McCrory and Nellie Ryals McCrory.
Modine loved to spend time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed family dinners and was a great baker. She loved to fish at Lake Moultrie. Modine loved her Crowfield Baptist Church family and her ladies class which she made many great friends. She never missed an Atlanta Braves baseball game and she loved the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to her husband, Holley Pate, Modine is survived by sons, Dale Hawkins (Kim) of Goose Creek, Tim Hawkins (Lisa) of Eutawville, SC and daughters Linda Hawkins Fiddie (Paul) of Moncks Corner, SC and Jane Warren (Dale) of Sheldon, SC, 3 step-children Melanie Mann, Kim Murillo and Andy Pate, 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and the gift of another great great grandchild expected in a few weeks. Also 6 step-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Modine was predeceased by her first husband, Homer Bevis Hawkins, a son, Ricky Hawkins, two granddaughters, Taylor Miller and Breck Bordeaux.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11am at McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel, 869 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC.
The service will be held following the visitation at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel, at 1pm with the Reverend Sonny Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Plantation Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at 3345 S Live Oak Dr, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Modine`s memory may be sent to Crowfield Baptist Church Building Fund 100 Hunters Ln #6407, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
