Miriam Ferguson Campbell, 95, of N Charleston, entered peacefully into eternal rest on April 11, 2020 at the Life Care Center of Charleston.

Born June 8, 1924 in Looxahoma MS, Miriam was the daughter of the late Eliza Ray (Liles) and Jesse Maze Ferguson. She graduated from the University of Mississippi and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Memphis TN.

Miriam entered Navy Nurse Corp in January 1956. During her 22-year career, she was stationed at Naval Hospitals at Chelsea (Boston), St. Albans (Long Island), Charleston SC, Philadelphia PA, NAF Sigonella, Sicily; Women Officer's School, Great Lakes; Naval Station, Adak, Alaska; Oakland CA; and Newport R.I. She retired April 30, 1978 at the rank of Captain, USN.
In 1976, Miriam married the late Fred A. Campbell and lived in West Lebannon, New Hampshire. She later resettled to North Charleston, SC where she resided at The Elms.
Miriam was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Liles Ferguson and her beloved collie, Lilly.
She will be missed by her caregivers at Life Care Center of Charleston, friends and neighbors from The Elms 55+ Community, and Cousins Anelia Weed, Carol Ann Mock, Jim Cupples, Scott Billingsley and their families.

Miriam will be interred at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort SC at a future date.
