Mildred "Betsy" Elizabeth Lunney

Mildred "Betsy" Elizabeth Lunney, 81, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on December 25, 2021

Born on May 14, 1940 in Charleston, SC, Betsy was the daughter of the late James Ambrose Ward and Daisy Whitley Ward.

Betsy graduated in 1962 from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She taught school at James Island Middle School for a season before becoming a full-time loving and amazing Mom to her three children. She constantly instilled in her children to always to their best, no matter what the task was.

She was an active member of the Fort Johnson Baptist Church.

Though it is heartbreaking for those left behind to lose someone so very special who was loved by so many, she has gained her angel wings and is forever in the presence of her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Betsy has now been reunited with her loving husband, Samuel W. Lunney and her youngest daughter, Lisa Marianna Brandt, who left this world much too young.

Betsy is survived by her daughter, Tammy Duncan (Howard); son, Sam Lunney, Jr.; grandchildren, Ashleigh Jones (Charlie), Austin Frazier, Alex Duncan and Hailey Brandt.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Forth Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
