Micheline Mengin Shoaff, 85, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
She was born on January 20, 1933 in Issoudin, France, daughter of the late Irene Cellier Mengin and the late Henri Marius Mengin.
Micheline was an artist, painter, sculptor and a gourmet cook. She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, and participated in national tournaments in Spain. She loved traveling with her husband, and had a passion for performing in little theater productions in Spain; Annapolis, MD and Charleston.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Zimmerman and her sister, Sophie de Mezier.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, John W. Shoaff of Charleston, SC; children: Andrea Sobaski and her husband, Tim, of South St. Paul, MN and Christopher Shoaff of Savage, MN; three grandchildren: Matthew, Allison and Christopher Gregory; four great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Kali, David and Leo; two sisters: Catherine Drumain of Bordeaux, France and Jeanette Yrle of Carsas, France; and nephew, Christophe Drumain of Charleston, SC.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel, with a reception to follow.
