Michele Andrea Mortensen, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
Born on February 20, 1951, in Reading, MA, she was a daughter of the late Audrey Powers Beaudry and the late Benjamin Beaudry.
A musician, screenwriter, actress, standup comedienne, producer, arts administrator, wife, mother and proud grandmother, Michele was truly a multi-hyphenate in the performing arts. She played music with Ray Charles, Bruce Springsteen's band, and symphony orchestras in NJ, NH, and MA. As a standup comedian, she performed throughout the country, including New York, Las Vegas, Boston, Tampa, Providence, and even Akron, OH. She also wrote, produced, and starred in a short film that was shown at the Boston International Film Festival. Michele was also executive director of the Boston Civic Symphony. Michele is survived by her husband, Mark H. Mortenson; daughter, Katherine McAnnar and son, James Mortensen.
