Micheal Carey Record, 21, of Goose Creek, passed away April 22, 2015. He was born October 25, 1993 in North Charleston to his father Micheal Johnson and his wife Sheri and mother Donna Neary and her husband Tim. Carey attended Goose Creek High School and Dunnellon High School where he played baseball, football and learned the trade of welding to help provide for his family. His priority in life was family, especially his girlfriend Nicole and daughter Layla. When he wasn’t spending time loving on his family, he enjoyed shooting pool, playing paintball, and range shooting. He had a strong work ethic and would take any opportunity for overtime at Anchor Sign. Even at a young age, Carey possessed maturity that most men his age did not, and always knew when he had to step up to the plate. He was a kid at heart and enjoyed spending time with his younger cousins, siblings and neighborhood kids. Carey is survived by the love of his life, Nicole Barnhart; his daughter Layla Record; sisters, Alaina Johnson, Brianna Johnson, and Amber McGauley; brother, Tyler Neary; aunts, Ki Johnson-Barr and Shandra Record; uncles, Owen Record and Terry Neary; grandparents, Hilda Record, Rae Johnson, Margo Sapone, and Don Record; and many other beloved family members and friends. He is predeceased by his cousin Brayden Johnson-Barr, Great Grandmother, Nellie R. Ward, Grandfather Robert Sapone, and close friend, Jake Fair.
