Michael Joseph Sealy, age 65, of Ridgeville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening,
November 22, 2022, in Trident Hospital while surrounded by his family.
Born on September 20, 1957, in Richmond, VA was the son of the late Nelly Sealy (Raymaker) and
Ronald Sealy.
Michael (Mike) was a highly decorated soldier serving in the United States Army for 32 years. Mike
served active duty through Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. Mike later moved his diligent service to the
Army Reserve to have more time at home to raise his son and be with his family. Mike paid the ultimate
price for his beloved country as he lost the battle to ALS, which he contracted while overseas.
Mike enjoyed many activities when not on active deployment. He loved photography and became an
avid photographer with many different styles through the years. Gaming was another hobby he loved
during his spare time, playing XBOX or computer games. His favorites were games such as Medal of
Honor or Call of Duty. This comes as no surprise considering his active life as a soldier. Mike also loved to
collect various things as he traveled the world. He had quite a coin and mug collection obtained from
different places all over the globe.
Michael is survived by his son, Patrick Sealy, and wife, Brianna Sealy, and his beloved wife, Debra Sealy.
He is also survived by his sister Mary Goyne and his brothers, Richard Sealy and wife, Angela Sealy, and
Steve Sealy and wife, Bernice Sealy. Mike is also survived by an enormous circle of friends and comrades
whose lives he has touched over his years in service and who will always cherish and remember him.
Mike will have a short graveside service at Beaufort National Cemetery on Friday, December 2 nd , at 12:00
pm with full military honors. The burial will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South
Carolina.
