Michael LaTorre Goss

Michael LaTorre Goss, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died on Friday, January 2, 2015. He was born November 30, 1941 in Charleston, SC to the late Dorothy L. Hutcherson and the late Earl Wayne Goss. Michael was of the Catholic faith. He was a Mason, Shriner, U.S. Army Veteran and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping and loved working in his vegetable garden. His family will remember him as a good hearted soul. He is survived by his son; Michael (Cheryl) Goss, Jr., of Jacksonville, FL, his step-son; Roger Pierce, of North Charleston, SC, three sisters; Catherine (Roy) Leopold, Isle Of Palms, SC, Kay (David) Bessinger, of Givhans, SC, and Jean (Chuck) Kelly, of Clayton, NC, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife; Mary Ann Fine Goss, three brothers; Earl Wayne “Bubba” Goss, Jr., John McGuire Hutcherson, Jr. and Terrence Goss. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. A committal graveside service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
