Michael C Smith

Michael Cuming Smith, 87, of James Island, SC, died, Monday, January 15, 2018.
He was born May 22, 1930, in Tianjin, China to the late Clifford A. and Josephine N. Smith.

Michael spent his career as a children's speech therapist and educator; and also enjoyed sharing his many interesting stories. He had an inquisitive interest for art and was history aficionado. A great neighborly friend, kindhearted soul, loving person, and will be missed by all.

Michael is survived by his step-sons, William Taylor Reid, of Summerville and Calvin Graham Reid, III, of Charleston; his loving caregiver, Kelly Irene Laurence, husband Matthew and their children.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Nancy Taylor Smith and daughter Jeanne Michele Smith
A Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, JAMES ISLAND, 347 Folly Rd. Charleston, SC 29412. A private inurnment will be held at a later time.
