Michael Brenyo, Jr.

Michael Brenyo Jr., 89, formerly of Clairton, PA, and currently calling Mt. Pleasant, SC home, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

Mike was born on October 30, 1932, the youngest of 8. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle. He was predeceased by parents, Michael Sr. and Mary (Warholla) Brenyo of Clairton, PA and his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (Geracitano). He is survived by his sister, Barbara Gilmer of Finleyville, PA; his sons, Michael Roderick Brenyo (Mimi) of Camp Lejeune, NC and Douglas Vincent Brenyo (Donna) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Matthew (Katie), Steven (Emily), Andrew and Katerina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike served honorably for 30 years in the United States Navy Dental Corps as an Endodontist. He saw action in the 1968 Tet Offensive near Da Nang during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy in 1989, after which he worked 10 additional years in private practice and consulting.

Mike was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC, where a funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 12, 2022. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at 10:30.  Military Honors and Inurnment will follow the mass in the columbarium at Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Road in Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.  A reception will be held following the inurnment in the Burgess Center at Franke at Seaside.
