Michael Austin Moody, 20, of Charleston, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
He was born on May 22, 1996 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Michael Scott Moody and Charlye Rigsbee Gagnon.
Austin graduated from Yamaha Marine School with a marine mechanic certification. He worked for Freeman Boatworks. Austin loved being outdoors. He enjoyed being on the water – boating, wakeboarding, and fishing. His family will remember him as a young man with a loving care-free spirit who had an infectious smile.
Austin is predeceased by his grandfather, James F. Moody, Jr. and two uncles: Walter Ronald Rigsbee, Jr. and Henry Driggers.
He is survived by his mother, Charlye Rigsbee Gagnon and her husband, Richard, of Felton, DE; his father Michael Scott Moody and his wife, Michelle, of Charleston, SC; one sister, Elizabeth Grace Moody; one brother, Ethan William Gagnon; stepbrother, Brett Pendarvis; grandparents: Maggie McDonald Moody, Walter Ronald Rigsbee, Sr., Faye Elizabeth Rigsbee, Lynn Conley (Roger Therrien), Richard William Gagnon (Irene), Linda Hammond, Ralph Hooper (Jackie); great-grandmother, Nellie Myers McDonald; several loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved beagle, Tosh.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
