Melrose W. Janikowski

Melrose "Pat" W. Janikowski, 83, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Monday, February 12th, 2024. 

Born on April 4th, 1940, in Charleston, SC she was the daughter of the late Melrose Waters Walling and the late John Edward Walling. 

Melrose "Pat" was a founding member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek, SC.  She was also a past Vice President of The Ladies Guild.  She was a retired medical assistant for C. Willy Schwenzfeier, MD.  Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, and Mimi to her granddaughters.

Pat is preceded in death by her brother, Clayton Edward Walling.

Pat is survived by her husband, Gene Janikowski; daughter, Donna Purvis; son, Tim Janikowski; sister, Sybil Cook; and three granddaughters: Callie Purvis, Jordan Huff (Tyler), and Ashlynn Janikowski. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation - Goose Creek, 869 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek, SC. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Ave, Goose Creek, SC. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, SC. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445.
