It is with sorrow that the family of Matthew Corsbie, 50 of James Island SC, share his recent death from a heart attack on January 11, 2021.
Matthew was born on December 23,1970 in Kansas City, MO and was the son of Janette (Rempe) Corsbie and father, Danny Corsbie.
He, along with his family, were world travelers living in Blue Springs, Missouri; Cimarron, Kansas; Amman, Jordan; Hafar Al Batin and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Cairo, Egypt; and Karachi, Pakistan.
Matthew graduated high school from Karachi American School in 1989. After graduation he headed for the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he majored in art and music. During those years, he played in various rock bands around the region. His friends knew him as a funny and smart person who lived life to the fullest. He was a talented artist and a superb musician and guitarist.
After the university, he traveled throughout the U.S. enjoying the diversity of the U.S. In the last decade, he was a successful painting contractor being known for his attention to detail and design, color coordination and commitment to the job.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Janette (Rempe) Corsbie and father, Danny Corsbie; younger sister and brother-in-law, Sarah (Corsbie) Wright and Chris Wright, niece, Willow Marie Wright; and younger brother, Ethan Corsbie.
He was predeceased in death by his maternal grandparents; Harry and Faye Rempe, Fort Madison, IA and paternal grandparents Samuel (Bing) and Margaret Corsbie, Hesston, Kansas.
Private services were held in Charleston, SC where he lived.
The family is currently in seclusion and request only email or Facebook condolences at this time.
Matthew would want contributions to be made to local charities that serve a local community - a random act of kindness would be perfect.
