Mary Lou Moran (Walsh)

Mary Lou Moran, 80, of Overland Park, KS, former resident of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016. She was born to George and Olga Walsh in Queens, NY on February 9, 1936. After graduating from SUNY at New Paltz, she married the love of her life, John 'Jack' Moran on July 4, 1958. She was a loving wife to Jack for fifty years. Mother of five children, grandmother to ten, and great grandmother to one. She was very creative and artistic. Cherished time spent with her family and friends. Especially enjoyed family vacations on Sullivan's Island. Most importantly, she was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner at Stella Maris Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Sheila (Mark) Frankovic of Loch Lloyd, MO, Eileen Moran (Scott Stephens) of Fairfax, VA, Mary (Tom) Verderame of Virginia Beach, VA, Jean (Scott) Weiermiller of Milton, GA, Thomas Moran, of West Irondequoit, NY; ten grandchildren, Aaron (Jennifer) Frankovic, Allison Frankovic, Savanna Stephens, Georgia Stephens, Chelsea Weiermiller, Brynn (Patrick) Casey, Austin Weiermiller, Emma Moran, Jack Moran, and William Moran; great granddaughter, Hannah Frankovic;former daughter in law, Amy Rapin ; extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Patricia Wichelns and brother, George W Walsh III. The family would like to thank Garden Terrace of Overland Park, for their wonderful care and compassion. Visitation will be at McAlister- Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Rd., Mt. Pleasant, at 10 AM July 28, 2016. Liturgy of Christian Burial, noon, Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Stella Maris Catholic Church, 1204 Middle St., Sullivan's Island. Burial will be at noon, Friday, July 29, 2016 at Beaufort National Cemetery.
