Carol Carroll

Mary Carolyn Carroll, known by friends and family as Carol passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the age of 77. 

Born on June 12, 1945 in Augusta, GA was a daughter of the late Fannie Blackston (Shaffer) and George Wilson Blackston.

Carol retired as Director of Operations of Littlefield Corporation managing 21 bingo halls across the state but her most prized accomplishment was her children and all her childrens friends that she loved as her own. 

Carol served on the board at the James Island YMCA for many years. She loved celebrating accomplishments with her family and spending time with them. The beach brought a sense of calm to her soul and a casino floor would make her glow. We know that she is happily reunited with her husband Bill (Boots) (Poppie).

Carol is preceded in death by the love of her life Bill “Boots” Carroll, and grandson, Shane Newman. 

Carol is survived by her sons Steve and Kevin (Kelly), daughters Darlene and Brenda (Thomas), ten grandchildren Ryan, Austin, Nicole, Cameron, Kelsey, Brittany, Sherry, Lila, Brooke, and Stone, and five great grandchildren. 

She is also survived by her nieces, Jennifer (Chris) Michelle and Angelique. 

The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:00pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.

The funeral service will be held at 5:00pm, on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
