Mark George Gress, 69, of Summerville, South Carolina, went into the hands of God Thursday, February 21st, 2019.
Mark is survived by his wife June of 47 years, his daughter Jill Gress, daughter-in-law Shannon O’Neal, sister Carol Delia, brother-in-law Jim Delia, sister-in-law Arlene Dollar, brother-in-law Eric Dollar, and nephews Alan Buxbaum and Colton Dollar, in addition to so many friends and extended family. Mark was a loving father, husband, uncle, cousin and a friend to everyone.
Throughout his life, he worked as a Regional Manager for several Pool Manufacturing Companies in New Jersey. He served proudly in the Navy as a signal man aboard the U.S.S Savannah. He was a member of the American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek. He served as a board member, Vice President and President of the Charleston Lowcountry Antique Automobile Club of America.
Mark loved sports, especially Phillies baseball and the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent his free time watching The History Channel and tinkering with his 1966 Thunderbird. Antique cars were his joy and passion. In the past several years Mark and June have become Elite Cruisers enjoying every moment they had together all around the world. He also loved his neighbors and going to social events.
Mark was always there to help relatives and friends with anything they needed. He would do anything for anyone.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek on Sunday, Feb. 24th. A mass for Mark will be at St. John the Beloved on 28 Sumter Ave, Summerville, SC on Monday, Feb. 25th starting at 9 am. Mark will be laid to rest in New Jersey.
