Mario Valencia Gabuyo

Mario Valencia Gabuyo, 60, of Goose Creek, SC passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2017. Known as "Boboy" to many of his close relatives and friends, his personality and sense of humor brought a smile to all. He was, among many things, an avid bowler with a 300 game, a chess enthusiast, and fan of UNC basketball.

Mario was born on October 2, 1957 to Gaudencio, Sr. and Anastacia Gabuyo in Pasig City, Philippines, the youngest of seven children. He and his parents moved to North Charleston, SC in 1975, and he joined the United States Navy in 1976, serving until 1999.

He married Nilda Arcalas in 1993, and they had one daughter, Kristine.

Mario is predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Felisa Norma Oboza and Consorcia Gabuyo. He leaves his wife of 24 years Nilda, their daughter Kristine, a son Ryan Garcia (Jennifer), and two grandchildren. He is also survived by four siblings; Ernesto (Carmen), Conrado (Teresita), Guadencio, Jr. (Teresa), and Maria Elena Mones (Nelson); as well as their respective families.

His funeral mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek, SC on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 11:00am.
