Marilyn Miles Denby, age 71, died at her home in Mt. Pleasant, SC on Monday, February 10, 2014. She was born on December 3, 1942 in Hammond, IN to Archie and Dorothy Miles. Philippians 2:3 is a verse that characterized the way Marilyn lived her life. “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.†As a devoted wife and mother, her greatest joy came through serving her family. No matter if it was the daily tasks of serving her children or the role she played as an executives wife, Marilyn did it all with enthusiasm and class. This joy in serving came from a deep rooted love for Jesus and the sacrifice He made for her. In addition to her family, Marilyn served the church faithfully in youth ministry, choir, as missionary president, board member and treasurer, to name a few. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Leesburg Church of the Nazarene for her many years of loving service. She also worked outside the home at different times. She loved her jobs as a tax preparer for H&R Block and as an Administrative Assistant at Rehau in Leesburg, VA. Marilyn is survived by her husband Stephen Denby, her children Kimberly Mosher and husband Larry, her son Matthew Denby and wife Bethany and four grandchildren, Samantha, Austin, Skyler and Malakai.
