Marie Elizabeth 'Peg' Willis (Karsten)

Marie (Peg) Willis who lived with her son Ron and daughter-in-law, Sandy, in Summerville, South Carolina for the past two years, passed away on March 6, 2015, at 4:30pm. Prior to her relocating to Summerville, she was a resident of The Northridge Retirement Community, North Ridgeville, Ohio for over 20 years. Marie was born October 25, 1912 in Westlake, Ohio and was Society Editor for the Westlake Herald. She and her late husband, Chester H. Willis were married in 1933 and lived in Ashland, Ohio for many years prior to moving to Lorain, Ohio where they resided for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester of 55 years, a son Richard, her parents Elizabeth and Frederick Karsten, and an infant brother. She is survived by her son, Ron of South Carolina, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 6 great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by Carolyn Ward of North Ridgeville, her granddaughter, Michele also of North Ridgeville and all of her extended family. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Lorain where she served as office secretary for 10 years. Special thanks to her dedicated caregiver, Robin Cooper and caregivers Rebecca, Franchesca and Chaplain Dave of Agape Hospice Care.
