Marguerite Hood Brown, 88, of Goose Creek, Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was the wife to DC Brown, a Navy veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, and daughter of the late Ernest and Edwina Hood. Marguerite was a charter member of the Goose Creek Garden Club. She was an active volunteer with many city activities before serving thirty nine years as a Goose Creek City Council Member. Marguerite was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church. After his retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Brown traveled to over forty two states, many with their great grandson, Paul. She is survived by her husband, DC Brown of Goose Creek; three children, Jean King of Moncks Corner, Janet Lucas and husband Mike of Moncks Corner and Eddie Brown and wife Jackie of Chesnee, SC; three grandchildren, Susan Lent of Goose Creek, Donald Brown of Wilmington, NC and Tina Brown of Dallas, TX. Mrs. Brown is also survived by four great grandchildren, Paul Bailey, Maggie Brown, Lacie Brown and Fischer Brown and one great-great grandchild, Bradley Bailey. She was predeceased by her brother, James Hood and son-in-law, Thomas King. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Crowfield Baptist Church, 100 Hunters Lane, Goose Creek. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. in McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek Chapel.
