Margaret Rose " Marge " Chance
June 14, 1933 — July 22, 2021
Margaret (Marge) Rose Chance, 88, of Goose Creek, widow of Francis Leon " Frank " Chance, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She married Frank Chance Sr. on December 27, 1952. Born on June 14, 1933, in Browning, Montana, Marge was one of three daughters of the late, William Jackson and Gertrude Mary (Arnoux) Jackson.
Marge was a proud member of the Native American Blackfoot Nation. She was known by many in the community as “Mom Chance”, and to her grandchildren as “Grandma”, and to her great-grandchildren as “GG”. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Marge retired from the Berkley County School District where she worked in the child nutrition program. Marge is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her two sisters, Shirley Richardson and Audrey Jackson.
She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Stephanie Chance. She is survived by her six children, Frankie, Mike (Teresa), Chris (Theresa), Eddie, Kim, Joe, her ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 10:30 AM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek with a service following at 11:00 AM. The burial service will be held at 12:30 PM at Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marge`s memory may be sent to the Peace Corp Memorial Fund in memory of her granddaughter Stephanie Chance at Stephanie Chance Memorial Fund (peacecorps.gov)
