Margaret “Peggy” Calhoun Sigmon, 73 of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. 

 

Born on April 5, 1951, in Charleston, SC, Peggy was a daughter of the late Rudgely and Margaret (Condon) Calhoun. 

 

Peggy served as a Charge Nurse for many years and then became a Hospice Nurse before her retirement. She loved being outdoors, collecting seashells and enjoyed gardening. She held a deep faith in Christ that helped her through her life as a nurse and her own health.  

 

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Rudgely and Margaret Calhoun.

 

Peggy is survived by her husband, William J. Sigmon, Jr., three daughters, Marie Howard (Lewis), Susanne Utley (Joe), and Christine Psaras, two grandchildren, Ashlyn Riddle and Jacob Howard, two sisters, Anne Winkler (Wink) and Ellen Calhoun, two brothers, Rudge Calhoun and Bob Calhoun (Nancy), several nieces and nephews, and many friends. 

 

A Visitation will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation - Mount Pleasant, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 with the Prayer Service to follow at 3:00pm
